Bed Bug Supply Review - see what our experts have to say about this product

The commercial grade Bug Sucker HEPA Backpack Vacuum is a great tool for anyone dealing with bed bugs including individuals, pest control operators, hotels and property managers. Unlike other vacuums, the Atrix Bug Sucker HEPA Backpack Vacuum was designed for bed bugs and other crawling insects utilizing HEPA bag filtration system and plugs to keep anything from escaping. The 3 quart capacity allows the user to vacuum several bed bug jobs before having to replace the HEPA bag.

The Bug Sucker HEPA Backpack Vacuum is highly portable with the backpack feature and weighs just 10 lbs. The vacuum is used during the cleaning process of a bed bug job to pickup as many live or dead bed bugs, bed bug feces and eggs as possible along mattresses, box springs, baseboards cracks and crevices. Using a HEPA vacuum for bed bugs is a great way to quickly reduce the bed bug population before steam, mattress covers, powders and sprays are introduced.

Questions and Answers

Q: How often should the filter be changed?
Asked by: Esperana Alvarado - 11/16/2013
A:
If you are using the vacuum for bed bug treatments, the filter bag should be replaced after each use, to prevent the risk of bed bugs escaping the vacuum through the hose (which is still accessible from inside the bag). For regular cleaning duties, replace the filter bag when it's full, or every 2 to 3 years - whichever comes first.
Q: What's up with the 'blower feature? I would be afraid I would accidentally activate it and send the contents of the bag out .
Asked by: Moxtr - 8/29/2014
A:
Fortunately, the blower function is not activated with any switch or button. The blower is used by switching out the front exhaust grill with a blower port adapter, and attaching your vacuum hose there.
Q: does this vacuum come with attachments, if so, how many?
Asked by: Kathleen - 4/27/2019
A:
There are five tool attachments.

Very Cool
It sucks and its a backpack. We do about 4-5 bed bug jobs a week and use this vacuum first to remove as many bugs as possible before we steam and spray. We also use it for roaches after we drive them out. We just sucks them right up and they can't get out!

Atrix Bug Sucker Backpack HEPA Vacuum
This is pretty well designed. Suction is excellent. The instruction manual is poorly laid out, but you can get the hang of it if you persist. It has a very short power cord, so you will need to get a 10' or 15' extension cord. While it can be carried as a backpack, it is sufficiently heavy that I simply sat it on the floor. It comes with a variety of useful end tools. The only one I don't like is the carpet cleaner with combined rotating brush, as I couldn't see how to get it open to effectively clean it after use. Perhaps there is a secret I have yet to discover.

vacuum
I love the vacuum itself. Using the backpack style is much easier than I thought it would be. The only negative aspect is the VERY short cord. It keeps pulling out of the extension cord ( I tried several). I also love the attachments.

Atrix Bug Sucker Backpack HEPA Vacuum
I like that it is a backpack, but I am still getting used to it. The instruction manual leaves much to be desired. Someone needs to read it and see that in places, the information leaves off, and ends up somewhere else.

Good, but you need extension cord!
The vacuum is a good weight & has very good suction. It would have been GOOD to know that one needs his/her own heavy duty, LONG extension cord! I was all reved up to use it when I realized the cord is only about 18 INCHES long! That could have been mentioned in the specs! Should be mentioned somewhere! Another thing is that you have to turn it off to move items of furnishing or other obstructions out of the way--there is no where to temporarily store the vacuum wand as you work. That said, It is a good vacuum.

vacuum
The moment I turn on the vacuum the soft tube from the head was disconnected. The soft tube was not glued properly to the head in the factory. Now I have to hold on to the tube while vacuuming.
