Bed Bug Supply Review - see what our experts have to say about this product

The all-new Armato 9000 aims to be a no-compromise commercial-grade bed bug steamer. It packs a powerful boiler, integrated heating element and super high capacity tank into an all-metal heavy-duty body. It even includes high-end features like continuous fill and CEME® solenoid control for an attractive price. Continuous flow means you can add water to the steamer at any time into an unpressurized tank so you can steam continually without having to wait for the steamer to cool down first. This makes continuous fill a must have for commercial jobs where waiting 15 minutes between fills is not an option.

The premium, heavy-duty build quality is apparent at first sight. Every part of the body design and components were taken into consideration. All of the body panels are made of powdered steel and reinforced with hard steel fixtures and rubber bumpers. While we wouldn’t test its durability by dropping it off any roofs, we feel confident that the steamer can withstand the occasional knock around the back of a truck or up and down a steep set of stairs.

A big advantage that the Armato has over its competitors is its seemingly endless water capacity. Even if we never took advantage of the continuous fill feature, we estimate that a full tank can steam non-stop for over two and a half hours. The reason that’s an estimate is because we think it’s silly to ignore the continuous fill feature, so we never tested the full extent of the tank’s runtime.

The 9000 is named for its 90-PSI steam pressure capability, and this steamer lives up to its name without hesitation. This super high pressure is among the highest we have sampled, and will ensure that the steam adequately penetrates into cracks and crevices to hit bed bugs where they are hiding. The 320-degree boiler can produce tip temperatures of up to 284 degrees Fahrenheit, which is more than enough to kill bed bugs of any age on contact. Coupled with the high pressure rating, the 9000 should have no trouble killing pests even several inches away from the tip of the steam nozzle.

Product Information

The ultimate bed bug killer and sanitizer:

The Armato 9000 was built from the ground up to be the most rugged and powerful pest control steamer available. No compromises, no cutting corners. When you need all of the power you can get with the highest heat, the Armato delivers. When the job takes you bumping up and down stairs or in the back of a loaded truck, the Armato can take it. When other steamers run out of water or pressure, the Armato keeps going.

The Armato's steam hits 90 PSI and 284 degrees Fahrenheit at the tip, making it one of the most powerful steamers available. Kill bed bugs, dust mites, fleas, ticks, viruses and bacteria instantly, leaving treated surfaces clean and sanitary. Steam for hours without interruption using the high-capacity, dual-tank design. Have confidence that the all-metal body and double-walled stainless steel boiler will stand up to the rigors of your day-to-day work.

90 PSI (6 Bar) Steam

1.1-Gallon Capacity

Steam for hours on end without having to refill thanks to the Armato's extreme water capacity.

State-of-the-Art Control

Adjustable Steam Pressure

Turn the steam pressure down for treating surfaces like walls, fabric, or floors, or turn it up to penetrate into cracks and crevices.

Continuous Flow Design

Water is stored in an unpressurized tank and fed continuously into the pressurized boiler, making it easy to top the Armato off with water as you go without having to wait for it to cool down first.

Italian CEME® Solenoid

Genuine Italian steam control regulates steam flow into the hose, reducing moisture and condensation buildup and ensuring a consistently hot and dry steam.

How to Kill Bed Bugs with the Armato Steamer:

Bed bugs are highly susceptible to heat -- exposure to 120 degrees will kill them in minutes, but 180-degree heat will kill them on contact. This includes adult bed bugs, juveniles, and eggs alike. This vulnerability makes steaming a highly effective part of a bed bug treatment process, as it allows you to quickly cut down the bed bug population no matter where they might be hiding.

The Armato 9000 is extremely powerful, and will have no problem penetrating into various materials and deliver lethal heat to bed bugs hiding inside. Using its steam adjustment feature, you can tune the steam pressure for different materials and treatment areas.

For mattresses, sofas, and other upholstered fabrics, use the bed bug tool, a cotton cover, and low pressure. This maximizes heat concentration and eliminates excess moisture and pressure. For cracks and crevices like baseboards, floorboards, windowsills, and more, switch to the jet tip tool. Use high pressure for door frames and windowsills, and medium pressure for mouldings and the edges of the carpet. Remember to move the steam nozzle slowly - no more than about one inch per second - to ensure that the heat is distributed consistently.

Use the jet tip tool and medium pressure to treat baseboards, floorboards, and the edges of carpeted floors.

Wrap the bed bug tool with a cotton cover to break up excess pressure and moisture to focus the heat on bed bugs hiding in upholstered furniture.

Turn the pressure up to penetrate into cracks and crevices along windowsills and door frames with the jet tip tool.

Questions and Answers

Q: What is the wattage?
Asked by: Janis - 10/28/2015
A:
The Armato draws 1,700 watts of power.
Q: is there a wet/dry vac in it?
Asked by: Julia - 12/14/2016
A:
Unfortunately not. There are very few combination steamer and wet/dry vacuum units on the market, such as the Gaia and Desiderio Plus.
Q: Is this the best steamer that you sell for bedbugs? How effective is it at cleaning tile, showers, bbq grates, etc? Are steamers that are used for cleaning somehow different from bedbug steamers?
Asked by: rex - 3/8/2017
A:
This steamer is purpose-built for killing bed bugs, and is one of the best options we have available for that job (along with the Cimex Eradicator or Desiderio Plus). While it's very effective at cleaning around the house, other steamers may offer more cleaning attachments and utility out of the box. Most steamers on the market are designed and sold for cleaning purposes, and only some of them have the specs needed to kill bed bugs.
Q: how many watts does it use ?
Asked by: fabio Bermudez - 5/23/2017
A:
The heating element draws up to 1,700 watts of power.

Armato 9000 Steamer
Sales rep, Oscar, was very helpful in recommending a steamer that would best suit our commercial need, and actually saved us some money. The steamer arrived in three days, and is exactly as described. Instructions are clear and simple, and this thing really does the job well. The metal cabinet, heavy casters/wheels, and continuous fill make this the obvious choice for commercial applications. We used in two units the first week we got it, and the results were great. This steamer will be an integral part of our pest control protocol, and Bed Bug Supply will be our go-to professionals for supplies and support. Their staff is very knowledgeable and eager to assist.

Armato 9000 Steamer
We received the product and have used it to treat a room and some bunk beds. Our maintenance team has been very happy with how it works. One of our greatest concerns is that the steam would for condensation and leave the surfaces wet, but that has not happened at all. Because it works so well, they feel confident in treating the carpet and every surface of the room. Thank you.

Best I've used
We have 4 technicians who do bed bugs. We had been using another brand of steamer, which would work, but not quite like this one. We are doing bed bug jobs in half the time due to the great steam flow. The high heat gives us confidence in our work, which equates to fewer call backs and a more satisfied customers. Good work. I also wanted to add that the people at bed bug supply know their stuff.

Wow
This steamer gets the job done. Having 23 years of experiencing killing bugs I realize the importance of having the right tools in the toolbox. This fits easily in car and works great for clearing multiple rooms infested with bed bugs in a few hours. Super hot steamer. I've had some other good steamers in the past, but they take a long time to do a job. Time is money. You get what you pay for.
