Bed Bug Supply Review - see what our experts have to say about this product

Of all the encasement brands we’ve reviewed SafeRest are by far the most advanced and highest quality on the market with full protection against bed bugs, fluids, dust mites and allergens. SafeRest was also tested with live bed bugs and are certified bed bug proof. Encasements are important as they seal off the mattress eliminating potential hiding places where bed bugs may reside. They also prevent bed bugs from escaping the encasement leading to their death by starvation. Another great feature offered by SafeRest is their high quality cotton terry surface material back coated with a breathable waterproof membrane layer, which does not sleep hot and makes no noise. Once installed, you can’t even tell that the encasement has been applied.

SafeRest Encasements offer two features not available on any other encasement. These features include their patent-pending 360° Secure Zipper feature, which prevents the end zipper traveler from pulling back by securing the zipper traveler with a Velcro flap. The other exclusive feature is their advanced Micro-Zipper, which prevents even the smallest infant bed bugs from passing through. SafeRest encasements are also triple stitched to protect the integrity of the seams.

Mattresses today are not cheap and should be protected to ensure years of use. Just one fluid spill or experience can ruin your mattresses, which is why premium encasements should be applied. Those with allergies or asthma will also benefit from the encasements ability to block dust mites and allergens from passing through resulting in improved air quality. Periodically wash the encasement to remove any dust mites resting on the surface of the encasements. SafeRest encasements are also vinyl and PVC free and offer a 10-year manufacture warranty.

Bed Bug Supply Team

Product Information

The first line of defense:

Bed bugs earned their name by being more commonly found hiding on or near the bed than anywhere else in infested homes. Bed bugs feed on human blood while their hosts are sleeping, then hide in a tight and secure place to rest, digest, and reproduce. If left unchecked, a small number of bed bugs with access to a nightly meal can multiply into an infestation in just a few weeks.

SafeRest mattress encasements and box spring encasements are essential to the process of making your bed bed bug proof. Bed bug encasements seal off the mattress and box spring, eliminating those common hiding places that bed bugs use to breed and to avoid treatment efforts.

Rather than disposing of expensive mattress sets, SafeRest bed bug proof encasements can be used to seal off the mattress and box spring, trapping any bed bugs inside and preventing them from escaping. Over time, these trapped bed bugs will die of starvation due to the lack of a blood source.

When designing their encasements for bed bugs, dust mites, and fluid protection, SafeRest selected only the finest materials and developed their own exclusive features. The result was a breathable, noiseless encasement that prevents bed bugs, bacteria, dust mites, and fluids from passing through.

This premium level of protection has helped thousands with allergies and asthma to improve their health by providing a more sterile and allergen free sleep environment. SafeRest encasements have also helped others to protect and treat their mattresses against bed bugs. Finally, those who suffer from heavy night sweating or have children, pets, or incontinence have benefitted from SafeRest's breathable waterproof design, which blocks all fluids from passing through.

Premium Features:

360 Degree Secure Micro Zipper
360° Secure Micro Zipper

SafeRest's patented zipper and enclosure completely seal your box spring on all six sides. The micro zipper spans three sides of the encasement for easy installation and removal.

The micro zipper's teeth that are too small and close together for bed bugs to fit through. The secure velcro enclosure seals off the end of the zipper to ensure there are no gaps that bed bugs can enter or escape through.

Ultra-smooth Polyester Cover
Smooth Polyester Surface

While other encasements use low-cost materials that rustle and retain heat, SafeRest's designers went out of their way to ensure that your sleep experience would be as quiet and comfortable as it would be without a box spring cover.

SafeRest's knitted polyester surface design is soft, smooth, and noiseless. Polyester resists sagging and tears while allowing air and heat to pass through.

Waterproof Membrane Layer
Waterproof Breathable Membrane

Protect your box spring from fluid spills like sweat and urine with SafeRest's exclusive membrane layer. This unique design blocks any fluids from reaching the box spring while still letting the box spring breathe to prevent heat buildup.

SafeRest's waterproof membrane is free of vinyl and PVC. It has no phthalates or fire retardant chemical treatments. It's perfect for children, allergy and asthma sufferers.

Installation:

Installing a SafeRest bed bug encasement is very simple, but may require two people since it involves lifting the box spring from the bed. Before you begin the installation, remove the encasement from its packaging.

SafeRest Encasement Install, Part 1

With the help from another person, remove the box spring from the bed frame and lean it upright against the wall.

SafeRest Encasement Install, Part 2

Unzip the box spring encasement on all three sides and wrap the short, unzippered side over the top of the standing box spring.

SafeRest Encasement Install, Part 3

Gently pull the encasement down so that both sides of the box spring are covered, and begin closing the zipper.

SafeRest Encasement Install, Part 4

Set the box spring back down on the bed to finish closing the zipper, and use the velcro enclosure to seal off the end of the zipper.

Care and cleaning:

SafeRest's Premium encasements are designed to last for many years if cared for properly. By following the included care instructions, you'll be able to take advantage of all of the protection and health benefits offered by these encasements for the length of their 10-year warranty and beyond.

Note that SafeRest's 10-year warranty covers manufacturing and fabric defects, and will not cover damage caused by failing to adhere to the care instructions.

Wash on warm or hot setting

Wash the encasement with the rest of your bedding at 95° Celsius (200° Fahrenheit), usually reached by the medium or high heat setting of your washing machine.

Dry only on low heat

Tumble dry the encasement only on low heat to avoid damaging it. Temperatures over 55° Celsius (130° Fahrenheit) can melt or warp the waterproof membrane layer.

Do not iron or dry clean

Do not iron or dry clean the encasement. The high temperatures involved will melt the waterproof membrane layer, causing the encasement to no longer be waterproof.

Do not use bleach

Do not use bleach or fabric softener when laundering the encasement. Bleach, detergents containing bleach, and fabric softeners can damage the waterproof membrane layer.

We do offer low-profile box spring encasements. You can find them here.
Q: Do you offer a queen-sized mattress cover only? I don't have a box spring--as I have a platform bed.

SafeRest mattress encasements are available here: http://www.bedbugsupply.com/saferest-bed-bug-mattress-covers.html
Q: what is discreet packing?
Asked by: dawn - 2/2/2014
A:
"Discreet packaging" means that nothing we ship out has the words "bed bug" on the box or label.
Q: Spring box that I have is 60x80 And thickness is around18 Do you have the the cover for this spring box.?
Asked by: ABDELLAH ELANSARY - 2/12/2014
A:
For a box spring that thick, you'd be best off using an 18" mattress encasement: http://www.bedbugsupply.com/SafeRest-Bed-Bug-Mattress-Encasement-15-18.html
Q: Are your pillow cases and mattress covers 100% cotton?
Asked by: Sany - 2/15/2014
A:
Only the sleeping surface is made of cotton terry. The encasements also feature a breathable membrane underneath, and the other sides of the encasement are made of smooth ultra-nit polyester.
Q: Can I use a box spring encasement on a mattress?
Asked by: Theresa Sampson - 5/28/2014
A:
We don't recommend using a box spring encasement on a mattress, since box spring encasements do not have the breathable cotton terry sleeping surface that makes the mattress encasements so comfortable to sleep on.
Q: My box spring is a queen and measures only about 6 inches. Your ad says up to 9 inches. Would your cover be advisable for my box spring since there is about a 3 inch difference?
Asked by: Donna - 5/30/2014
A:
For a box spring of that size, we would recommend a low-profile box spring encasement: http://www.bedbugsupply.com/SafeRest-Bed-Bug-Proof-Low-Profile-Box-Spring-Encasement.html
Q: I have a king size bed. My box spring isn't a split box spring. Will the queen encasement work? Thank you.
Asked by: Anedra - 6/10/2014

A queen sized encasement will not fit a king sized box spring. If it isn't split, you'll need to use a king-sized 6-9" mattress encasement: http://www.bedbugsupply.com/SafeRest-Bed-Bug-Mattress-Encasement-6-9.html
Q: My queen mattress is 7" deep and my memory foam is 2 1/2". What size mattress encasement do I need.?
Asked by: connie - 8/11/2014
A:
You can comfortably fit both your mattress and memory foam topper in a 9" encasement.
Q: This question is about the covers that go all the way around the mattress or box spring, do the mattress ones fit pillowtop beds? We have a twin and queen pillowtop.
Asked by: Kim - 8/22/2014
A:
Our mattress encasements will fit any pillowtop mattress, provided that the correct height range has been selected. Measure the full height of your mattress, including the pillowtop portion, before ordering to make sure you get the right size.

Wow quality
I've purchased other store brand encasements and I have to say, when I got these from bedbugsupply I was shocked at the quality of the encasements. They didn't "feel" like plastic or tyvek, it felt like "fabric". The zipper went 3/4 of the way around the box spring so installation was a snap! No tearing when placing it on or even when putting it down in the frame. I've no doubt whatsoever that these encasements will last me a GOOD LONG TIME. Oh and i'm no paid reviewer, i just want folks to know that when they get these, you WILL BE getting quality encasements.

Bed bug supply overnighted a new one, but it was too late for our appointment. The item was very nice and our pest control guy liked it.

Doesn't Tear Like The Others
Thicker fabric makes a big difference on box spring encasements and SafeRest gets it. These are well made and fit perfectly on my box spring. The velcro flap at then end and micro zipper were well thought out and a necessity for bed bugs. I also liked the lab testing report for peace of mind. Nice product and the price was also competitive. Nice to see a company make a great product and I wish them the best.

SafeRest Box Spring Encasement
No bed bug problem but extensive allergies - dust and dust mites the biggest. Have been using mattress and boxspring encasings for over a decade. This is by far the best deal I've found on boxspring encasings and the quality is comparable to high end brands. I'm impressed and pleased with my purchase. It arrived within days of my order. The encasing washed, dried, and installed easily. I'm curious to see how it withstands the test of time though considering the quality, I'm sure it will last for years to come.
